Laboratory Training and Qualification Curricula Development Process
Goal
As part of a consent decree site restart (green field), the analytical and microbiology departments needed to create a “cradle-to-grave” learning and development curriculum structure.
Approach
Created project plan and began project by meeting with department leadership to learn more about the end product they desired. Then, I scheduled times to met with various subject matter experts from each group, and together, we mapped out the different tasks an employee would be required to perform for each specialty within a department during their employment to include career progression and additional duties.
Results
An end-to-end learning and development plan that department leadership could use for onboarding new employees and a tool to help leaders determine each employee’s learning path. These curricula were also digitally created in the site’s learning management system and scheduled for each employee as needed.
